Hope - that miracles and big things can happen in humility and poorness in forgotten places. Love - which doesn't depend on rank or money, but can be experienced anywhere. Whether or not it really happened in no way detracts from the message.

Since this story was first told, we have discovered evolution and new continents, tried to kill each other in countless wars, invented the atomic bomb and penicillin, landed on the moon, created the Internet and worked steadily towards slowly destroying our planet, among other things. So, after 2000 years, we need this story more than ever. We need urgently to find hope and love for a better world: where sons of God can be born and actually grow up, and where love is an action.
